Character appearance, your story identity and progression choices are different questions in Graveyard Keeper 2. The official material confirms the Keeper, a Technology Tree, a new talent system and cosmetic outfits. It does not establish the old guide’s opening menu of starting kits, stat allocations or difficulty settings that alter corpse decay.

What you actually choose during progression
Plan around technologies, perks, tools and the projects your current quests unlock. These are decisions you make while building your operation, rather than proof that you must choose a permanent class at character creation. Read a node’s current cost and prerequisites before spending its currency; do not confuse inspiration used for perks with red, green and blue tech points.
Your immediate practical goal is to make the next task sustainable. Keep tools and supplies for that task, inspect the available workstations, and avoid buying ingredients for an alleged starting weapon recipe that the game has not shown you. The old Bone Shield and Necrotic Blade recipe table was not supported by a current item screen.
Outfits and appearance
Official launch material includes platform-related preorder outfits and bonus content. That confirms cosmetics exist, not a face editor, a universal tailor quest or a stat bonus on every outfit. A past preorder promotion is also not a promise that a new purchase today receives it. Check the content owned by your account and the options actually shown by the game.
Who is the Keeper?
The official story overview deliberately qualifies whether this is exactly the same Keeper as before. The new skull companion is Larry, not Gerry. This is a story question; selecting equipment is not evidence that you can rewrite the protagonist’s identity.
Can I assign starting attributes? A current attribute-allocation interface has not been established here, so this guide does not give invented allocation steps.
Are starting choices permanent? The earlier blanket claim was unsupported. Check the specific progression system before committing; a cosmetic option and a perk purchase need not follow the same rules.
Where should a beginner start? Follow the opening objectives and our beginner walkthrough; specialise around tasks you actually need to perform.
